Barbara Hambly
Barbara Hambly is an American author of fantasy, science fiction, mystery and historical fiction novels. She writes the Darwath, James Asher and Benjamin January series, and has contributed towards the Star Wars and Star Trek series. Barbara earned her Master’s degree in medival history from the University of California at Riverside. Before becoming a novelist, she worked as a high school teacher, model, waitress, technical editor, liquor store clerk and a karate instructor. Her science fiction novels are all set within a multiverse, with the exception of her Star Trek and Star Wars books. Barbara was once married to fellow S.F. author George Alec Effinger. She lives in Los Angeles, California.
