Daphne Du Maurier
Daphne du Maurier (1907-1989) was an English novelist, short story writer and playwright. Three of her works were adapted to film by Alfred Hitchcock ( Rebecca , Jamaica Inn and The Birds ) and another story, Don’t Look Now , was adapted to film by Nicolas Roeg. Du Maurier’s grandfather was artist/writer George du Maurier, while her father was actor George du Maurier.
