Joan Johnston
Joan Johnston is an American author of contemporary and historical romance novels. She writes the Hawk’s Way , Captive Heart, Bitter Creek , Benedict Brothers and many other series. Joan grew up the daughter of an Air Force sergeant and a music teacher. She earned her B.A. from Jacksonville University and her M.A. from the University of Illinois, Urbana – both in theatre. Joan then got her law degree with honours from the University of Texas and served as an attorney for five years. She has also worked as a newspaper editor and drama critic and as a college professor. Joan is a member of the Authors Guild, Novelists, Inc., Romance Writers of America and Florida Romance Writers. She splits her time between Colorado and Florida and has two children and a grandchild.
