Dancing Gods is a series of science fiction/fantasy novels by American author Jack L. Chalker . Joe and Marge had been dealt a bad hand, and now a stranger from out of nowhere named Throckmorton P. Ruddygore informs them that they are set to die in a mere 19 minutes. But if they choose, they can cross the Sea of Dreams. If they choose to go with Ruddygore, they would be in a place where fairies danced by moonlight. Perhaps Joe would become a barbarian warrior, and Marge could be beautiful and magical. When they get there, it is everything the stranger promised and then some. But they are in a land where Hell is still fighting a war, and now they must help prevent the Armageddon.
