Detective Inspector Charlie Priest is the central character in a series of mystery novels by English author Stuart Pawson . Priest heads the CID in the fictional town of Heckley, Yorkshire (located in the “Serial Killer capital of Great Britain”). At one time, he was the youngest ever to be appointed inspector and is now the longest serving. As an inspector, Priest goes by the book as much as he can, but when in the moment, he may skip a page or two.
