Inspector Frederick Troy is the protagonist in a series of historical crime fiction novels by American novelist John Lawton . Although we know Inspector Troy’s first name is Frederick, he prefers not to be addressed as such, disliking any form of his given name. Inspector Troy is an investigator on Scotland Yard’s murder squad. The series starts out during World War II. The film rights for the series have been optioned by Columbia Pictures.
