Doctor Who
Doctor Who is a multi-author series of science fiction novels based on a popular British franchise that originally debuted in 1963. The series was created for television by Sydney Newman, C.E. Webber and Donald Wilson. The lead character is known as The Doctor, a time-travelling alien known as a Time Lord, who travels the universe in a spaceship called the TARDIS (which appears in the form of a 1960s London police box), saving civilizations, helping people out and righting various wrongs. Over the course of five decades, The Doctor has been portrayed by different actors (as he is able to regenerate into different forms), including William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, and Jodie Whittaker. The series is a major part of British pop culture and is also popular around the world.
